Job Description

Overseas Import Merchandiser - Textiles & Footwear - Up to £28,000 plus benefits & fantastic career opportunitiesThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful international business as an Overseas Import Merchandiser. The company is expanding rapidly as a result of its success to date and if you would like the opportunity to bring your expertise to aplace where you can make your mark and develop your career then this could be the right opportunity for you.Based in the North Manchester area and with hybrid working in place, the key purpose of this role is to work closely with the Product Development and Merchandising teams to facilitate the smooth flow of product into the relevant warehouse at the time required.The Role as an Overseas Import Merchandiser:

  • Responsibility for the administration and shipping duties required by the Own-Brand shipping team. This involves planning, arranging, and tracking shipments for UK and European distribution, but also working with the international Joint Venture teams inorganising their shipment of the Own-Brand product.
  • Keeping up to date with all import procedures and having awareness of duties incurred (within the UK and internationally), customs requirements and rates of exchange etc. Training will be provided.
  • Assist in completing the transit shipping reports (PLM & supply chain software) - ensuring system functionality and visibility via integral information.
  • Liaising with the relevant teams, including external suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure goods are shipped in a timely manner, minimizing delays by looking at multiple modes of transport.
  • Airfreight costing
  • Communicating transport / transit issues to the relevant teams and aiding in the resolution of any issues.
  • Pull together monthly / weekly reports detailing the current shipment status and highlighting any potential issues.
  • Raising Letters of credit and handling banking queries for the supply base as required.
  • Raising supplier claims and ensuring we receive correct and timely repayment from suppliers, whilst monitoring the level within the KPI reports.
About you:
  • Youll have experience of shipping and some knowledge of import and export processes.
  • Strong PC skills, experience in using Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Youll be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
