Job Description

OPERATIONS MANAGER - JOB DESCRIPTIONKey RoleEnsure achievement of all operational KPI’s through a well-motivated Seafreight Import operations team.Key Responsibilities

  • Work seamlessly to deliver service excellence to all clients through a knowledgeable import team.
  • Support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to.
  • Contribute to the delivery of improved efficiency through multiple initiatives whilst enhancing service excellence to our clients.
  • Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the current budget, its opportunities and constraints, to deliver the KPI’s.
  • Ensure comprehensive cover for all absence within the team and when required, personally provide cover.
  • Lead the team to ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete in line with company policy.
  • Deliver comprehensive operational reporting.
  • Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.
  • Provide inspired leadership for the team.
  • Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.
  • Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing.
  • Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.
  • Experience
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of client and operational requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.
  • Have successfully run an Import Seafreight team for a minimum of 2 years
  • Implemented efficient working practices
  • Experience with Cargowise is desirable
  • Skills

  • Proven experience of managing change.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
