Job Description

POSITION: NURSERY PRACTITIONERSALARY:Level 2 - £11.00 per hour - £21,450Level 3 - £12.50 - £13.00 - up to £25,350LOCATION: Manchester - Free ParkingHOURS OF WORK: Between 7:30 am - 6;00 pm covering Monday to Friday, on a rota system, 7;30- 4pm, 8:30 - 5pm, 9 am - 6pmAre you currently a Childcare or Nursery Practitioner seeking a change to a more practical varied role If so, our client is currently looking for Nursery Practitioners either in Level 2 or Level 3 in the general support of their Office. If you have provenexperience in an early years education environment, we will welcome your CV.JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Maintain and promote the brand of the company on outings.
  • Respond professionally to queries and complaints in a professional manner
  • Adhere to room ratios in line with policy and rotas.
  • Ensure daily room registers and records of children in attendance are accurate.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies
  • To participate in the emergency and security procedures
  • Be alert to issues of safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and safety of the children is paramount, recording and reporting any concerns to the Manager.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in practice,
  • To administer first aid and medication as appropriate and keeping the manager informed of any actions.
  • To understand key childrens culture, level of development and identify next steps with line managers support.
  • To work with colleagues in observation, assessment and planning, ensuring the provision is stimulating with a balance of challenging and inspiring child/adult led activities, reflective childrens individual needs and interests.
  • Ensure detailed record keeping for key childrens development maintaining these records on a regular basis with quality meaningful observations and assessments and to involve parents in the process of planning and sharing of childrens progress.
  • Oversee the settling in of new children in a sensitive manner, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed, liaising closely with parents and staff to ensure home life and childrens interests are utilised for reassurance.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • Must be at least Level 2 or 3 qualified
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years foundation stage and experience working with children and families
  • Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding
  • Experience working with parents and outside agencies.
  • Good Administration skills
  • Empathy and understanding of children under five.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Calm and caring nature
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to work on own initiative
