POSITION: NURSERY MANAGERSALARY: £29,000 - £33,000 depending on experienceHOURS OF WORK: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday +Free ParkingAre you a Childcare or Nursery Manager seeking a change to a more practical varied role If so, our client is currently looking for a Nursery Manager in the general support of their Office. if you are a natural leader with excellent time managementand people skills with the ability to lead your team using your existing skills, experience, and passion for learning. • You will work closely with the Director whilst also being expected to work autonomously in relation to everyday management responsibilities.
• To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged under 5 years.
• To manage the day-to-day activities of the setting ensuring a safe environment for children.
• To developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their childs development.
• To manage other staff within the preschool nursery

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Adhere to policies and procedures implemented by the company
• Maintain and promote the brand of the company
• Ensuring security is maintained at all times, including the opening up and the losing of the nursery at the end of the day.
• Deal with complaints (verbal/written),
• Responsible for admissions in line with the admissions procedure accurately and updating the nursery management software system as necessary.
• Ensure daily registers and records of children in attendance are accurate.
• Liaise with external agencies.
• Responsible for Health and Safety across the company, ensuring relevant policies and Health and Safety at Work Regulations
• Ensure regular emergency evacuation drills are carried out, recorded, and evaluated.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, overseeing kitchen documentation and practice to ensure food safety regulations as set out by the local environmental Health are adhered to, this may involve cooking in the absence of the chef.
• To administer or oversee first aid and medication, referring to further emergency assistance if required.
• Create and implement Self-Evaluation alongside allstaff members.
• Ensure regular staff meeting stake place
• Responsible for reviews and appraisals, training requirements of employees and organise internal/external appropriate training with prior financial approval of the Director.
• Liaise with child-care training providers and student mentors.
• Address staff under performance issues using Performance Management Records and the disciplinary process, following guidance from 3rdParty employment law and health and safety advice company.
• Oversee the planning and provision of a stimulating environment with a balance of challenging and inspiring child/adult lead activities reflecting childrens individual needs and interests.
• Liaise with Deputy Manager/RoomLeaders to ensure confident systems are in place to guarantee the continued smooth running of the settings in their absence

Financial Operations:

• Manage waiting lists and forecast future occupancy.
• Ensure invoices are processed on time and forwarded to parents.
• Submit documentation for payroll
• Devise and implement a proactive and ambitious marketing plan

Customer Service Operations:

• Actively promote services to entice prospective customers and ensure the retention of families.
• Train staff members
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive family information .
• Ensure regular, detailed communication with parents via newsletters, parents evenings, open days/evenings, strong key person relationships.
• To undertake such duties as reasonably requested by the Director and to work flexibly on occasions that tasks arise which are not specifically covered in their job description.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years recent experience, working in a Preschool /Nursery setting, as manager or team leader ideally in a senior practitioner or room leader role.
• Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
• Knowledge and proven practical experience in implementing good quality learning opportunities.
• Empathy and understanding of children

• Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records.
• Effective team leadership.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Calm and caring nature
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
