We’ve got a number of long-established brands with a loyal customer base, supported by significant investment from our owner, Platinum Equity. We’ve recently invested in a brand new base in Central Manchester, which will form our Technology and Product Excellency hub.The RoleYou’ll be the leader of our teams responsible for the core network infrastructure, voice and other customer facing interaction services, and critical business applications. We’re looking for a problem solver and an influencer, who loves all things IT and thrives in a fast paced environment. You’ll be working as part of a strong team, and it will be your role to keep calm under pressure and support major incident responses and resolutions.What you’ll be doingThis is a senior role within our business, who we’re looking for someone who knows network communications inside out. You’ll lead from the front, holding responsibility for all things comms across multiple business units and a number of locations. It’s key that you’ve got a good knowledge of the network and telecoms vendor landscape, and that you know what’s out there (and whether or not it’s good!) when it comes to products, technologies, platforms and services. You’ll implement and manage security devices and platforms, making sure their associated controls are aligned to best practices and defined risks. You’ll also be an excellent communicator, who is able to translate the business vision, concepts and requirements into technical delivery. You’ll be involved in large scale projects that deliver meaningful success to the business, so a demonstrable background of that is key. This role will also have exposure to budgets, including planning and forecasting.Key skills we needYou’d be one of the founding members of our Manchester team, so you must be highly motivated, with a "can" and "will" do approach to your work. Here’s what else will set you up for success:- You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo (seriously, we encourage it)- Experience in provisioning and managing Cisco Switches and Routers, CheckPoint firewalls and IPS/IDS, network routing (BGP, OSPF), WAF products (e.g. Akamai) and related edge security platforms/CDNs- Demonstrable experience in leveraging cloud services and platforms as part of a modern network and telecoms strategy, including for example UCaaS and CCaaS- Exposure to AI and ML concepts, patterns and platforms specific to creating business value and competitive advantage as part of a CCaaS implementation- A knowledge and understanding of network security principles e.g. zero trust model and OSI layered model and the corresponding implementation practises, including processes, products, services and vendors- Practical experience of encryption/cryptography standards, protocols and technology and a demonstrable understanding of the real internal and external threats and measures to mitigate across a diverse distributed network- Experience leading teams in a multisite business- You’ll have worked in true partnership with teams across all facets of a business building strong and enduring relationships with your colleagues and senior stakeholders- Practical exposure to agile delivery principles and practices- Able to build strong and enduring relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholdersEqually as important as all the technical "stuff", we’re looking for someone who is hungry to learn and develop.
