Job Description

Role: Infrastructure Monitoring EngineerLocation: ManchesterSalary: £30,000 - £40,000We are recruiting on behalf of a software house based in Manchester who are looking for an experienced Monitoring Engineer to join their team.Company Profile:

    • In this role, you will be working in a small team of infrastructure engineers, ensuring that the IT systems are supported, implemented and maintained to the highest standard - you will play a vital role in allowing this company to continue to provide their impeccable services uninterrupted.Sound good Your responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Event management (analysing alerts and logs)
  • Incident handling
  • Problem resolution
  • Root cause analysis
  • Initiate, assess, test, verify, document and quality assure system updates
  • Create and implement change requests for incidents/problems as needed
    • Ideally, you will have experience with the following:
  • Nagios (or similar) - using and configuring
  • Opsview - working knowledge
  • AWS - instances setup & the built-in monitoring solutions
  • Advising on the best way to monitor a complex multi-server (single tenancy) environment
  • Taking technical documentation and questioning/providing the monitoring solutions and ensuring the solutions are documented with change control and versioning in place for the monitoring
  • Understanding and implementing performance monitoring and availability
