Job Description

As a multi-skilled Engineer, you will join the Facilities and Services department, assisting with the maintenance of our property portfolio at our offices based in Manchester.We are looking for a general tradesperson with skills in painting and decorating, joinery, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance activities to ensure that the facilities are maintained to the highest level. You will be required to carry out pre-plannedand reactive maintenance.You will work with and support the Senior Maintenance Engineer under the guidance of the Facilities and Services department based in Stoke-on-Trent.Working as part of a team or independently, you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance duties to a high standard and meet legislative HSE building compliance. You will have a flexible approach to work and may be required to work days andevenings to provide on call cover on a rota basis. You will need to be on site within 45 minutes in response to any call outs therefore must be able to travel into Manchester city centre within that timescale.Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to perform Competent Person functions.
  • Complete work to a high standard, have a methodical manner with ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm in emergency situations.
  • Familiar with creating and following Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Perform PPM maintenance tasks.
  • Awareness of building systems such air conditioning, generators and server rooms would be advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Performing general maintenance tasks including painting and decorating, joinery, minor plumbing and electrical works.
  • Carrying out a full range of general maintenance duties to a high standard.
  • Performing reactive and pre-planned maintenance.
  • Providing key holder services.
