We are now looking for a Freight Exports Operations Clerk to work in the Crosstrade department in Greater Manchester. Handling an air and sea and some road freight movements but mainly Sea and Air Freight export shipments from anywhere outside of the UK. This office is also the overseas supplier logistics control tower for global accounts worldwideThe position of Freight Exports Operations is more as a Freight controller the person in this role must be able to ensure that the client is keep up to date and the shipment moves from the vendor to the customer plant on time and without any delays.This will include communication with other offices or other Third-party agents to ensure all shipments run smoothly, and instructions are followed and correct paperwork is received. Dealing with customers / shipping lines and overseas offices, giving quotations, handling shipping instructions, EDI, pre-alerts, track and trace, key account handlingYou will have excellent communications skill, ideally knowledge of Inco terms what they mean etc, and how this relates to the customer with knowledge of handling shipments from China / Japan / India / USA and knowledge of cross trade shipments and what is involved with them, the necessary documentation etc.You will have experience of both air and sea freight movements but my client will consider just one mode as long as you are happy to get involved with an air and sea freight role This is an unusual role within a freight forwarder but it is also very interesting one with a wide range of skills sets that are needed really interesting and great opportunityOur client is a global leader in multi modal freight solutions, they provide customer specific transport solutions to shippers of all sizes worldwide.With over 300 people strategically placed in 10 locations throughout the UK and Eire, and over 250 offices world-wide.
