Mid - Senior Ruby Developer - Fully Remote - £70kAvanti Recruitment have partnered with a Ruby Software House that have built bespoke software used by SME’s in a number of sectors throughout the UK. They have recently been acquired by a Global software company in a bid to grow their client base globally. Because of this they require additional resource in their development team to work on some really exciting projects at a really exciting time for them.The company are able to offer 100% remote working or if you would prefer to work in the office or do a mixture of the two, they are based in West Sussex.They are looking for a mid - senior level Ruby Developer to lead on some of these projects and act as a mentor and provide support to their junior Developers. They currently have a tech team of 12 in the UK, 7 of which are Ruby Developers and this continues to grow. Globally, their tech team is in excess of 100 colleagues since the acquisition.One of your first key involvements will be on their globalisation project as they merge, taking the lead alongside other senior developers. This project is business critical and is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark. They are looking for people that can make suggestions and have significant input on the delivery of the project, and be involved in making key decisions that will shape the future of tech within the business.Alongside some really important projects, day to day you will mostly be responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing the company’s software, ensuring that their clients’ data is always available remains secure at all times. You will act as a source of support for junior members of the team and take ownership of their development, ensuring best practices are followed, code is tested and is robust and reliable.The role will be predominantly Backend focused with some work on the Frontend and the typical split would be 80 / 20 most of the time.Expert Knowledge of Ruby and Rails is essential, as is a solid understanding of RSpec and experience working in TDD. You will likely have at least 3 years’ commercial experience in these areas to be considered.Other things that are helpful but not essential as they can be taught on the job include Javascript, HTML and CSS.
