Job Description

Our client are a fast growth ecommerce business.Overall Job PurposeAs an experienced merchandiser, you will be responsible for focusing on driving profitable sales through the online channels. You must have core merchandising experience gained within a head office environment and be able to demonstrate a good understandingof E-commerce.The role will be pivotal in driving the performance and growth of the E-Commerce channel platforms through managing optimum stock levels to achieve sales with the most profitable way possible. Identifying opportunities for the growth of online exclusiveproduct and analysing different price points to determine the best price for various items based on trend. Providing commercial insight into the online channel performance to guide the Head of Buying and Head of Trading in building appropriate ranges and optimiseprofitable sales is critical.You will manage stock availability of all e-commerce offers across different brand platforms in line with the various critical paths and KPI’s (sales, profit, contribution, returns, availability) and grow sales and ensure creation of a balanced product offering.In addition, you will ensure online activity is in line with overall brand and stockholding strategies. Supporting the Head of Buying, you will help build ranges and construct sales and stock plans to support the overall budget.To be successful in this role you must have very strong data skills, including high level excel skills and proven experience. You will be required to take on several existing stock models which you must be able to maintain without support, and you will beexpected to develop these models as well as building new models, if required. Combined with these high-level data skills you must have a solid and proven understanding of managing stock risk and influencing procurement decisions.You will become an integral part of a small yet highly effective team. You will have no direct reports so the role will be very hands on but also extremely commercial. You will report to the Head of Buying and have a close working relationships with theHead of Trading. From time to time, you will be sharing your work and results with the shareholder.Key Role Responsibilities

  • Demand Forecasting & Market Intelligence
  • Creation of purchase orders and handover to the imports team for B2B orders
  • Creation of purchase orders and direct contact with branded suppliers, supporting the Head of Buying
  • Liaise with the wider Supply Chain team and the Commercial/Sales teams to agree and build likely demand predictions for a rolling 12 months
  • Monitor demand forecasting KPIs to drive improvements in accuracy, working capital and Customer service
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning and Logistics Teams on all aspects of Master Data Management including Customer and Sourcing requirements including adjustments to existing data
  • Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data, and develop statistical forecast models
  • Prepare and analyse data for S&OP reports/meetings, especially around KPI performance, supply chain risks and opportunities
  • Review historical trends and incorporate key demand inputs, prepare reports, and analyse accuracy performance
  • Provide key input into supply and scheduling teams on existing items, NPD and delists
  • Assist in development of demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of the core demand planning function and simulations for alternative demand scenarios
  • Coordinate cross-functional Business Intelligence research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with Supply Planning
  • Periodic reporting & interpretation of KPIs - Forecast accuracy & bias, Inventory turns and value, On-Time Performance, Safety stock and replenishment values, Track New product and E&O inventory value
  • Use and maintain the legacy Demand Planning tools as the primary forecasting system and support transition to new software
Person Specification
  • FMCG and B2B Demand Planning experience preferred
  • Ability to identify and solve complex process and operational business challenges
  • High level of commercial acumen and awareness of current trends
