Job Description

Experienced Medical WriterLooking to work for a company that focus on high- quality medical writingLocation- LondonSalary- ( )Role type- PermanentWith offices in London and the US, my client offers medical communications with a global vision. They work with some of the worlds largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies to develop creative solutions that inspire change, influence clinical practice and improve patient outcomes..If you love communicating medical science, then join the thriving scientific content team in one of their Medical Writer positions. You will have the chance to work in a range of therapy areas including immunology, cardiology and neurology.Core tasks/responsibilities:

  • Integrating, interpreting and summarising scientific data from a variety of sources, and adapting this information according to the audience and client brief.
  • Producing accurate, concise and increasingly insightful material across projects, and taking on board feedback received from editorial review; developing structural editing skills (rewriting, changing order, flow, etc).
  • Research and fact-checking, including checking work against source materials or producing original material to a scientifically robust standard with the support of editorial management; resolving queries with increasing attention to detail.
  • Identifying authors, faculty and clinical trial information in relevant therapeutic areas, and actively pursuing knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and therapeutic developments.
  • Adapting writing and editing style for different audiences and for a range of print and digital media, including websites, apps, animations, medical images, events materials and slides.
  • Proficient use of PowerPoint to create and edit slides with a range of complexity, such as formatting text, figures, graphs and animations.
  • Communicating clearly with all departments and senior management, contributing to team meetings and offering ideas to improve efficiency or quality to achieve team goals.
  • Effective interaction with clients, key opinion leaders and external teams, and providing content support for events both beforehand and on site, with assistance from senior team members.
  • Taking responsibility for defined aspects of team projects, with increasing levels of autonomy, adhering to delivery timelines, budgets and client expectations.
  • Providing input to new business proposals and attending pitches if required to do so by senior team members.
    • Experience/skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in a relevant STM setting, ideally in a medical communications, medical education or healthcare advertising agency.
  • Prior experience in the fields of immunology, cardiology and neurology would be advantageous.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and science communication.
  • A life science degree is essential.
