Job Title: Material Controller Job location: ManchesterHourly pay rate: £21.66 per hour PAYE£27.58 per hour Umbrella = £41,818 PAShifts: DaysHours per week: Average 37 hours per week Monday to FridayDuration: Long Term contract, on going likely up to 12 monthsStart date: asapIndustries considered: Rolling Stock, HGV, Automotive, Aerospace, RAF, REME, Army, Navy, Marine, Avionics, Rolling Stock, Commercial/Industrial, PlantDisciplines considered: Material Controller, Tool Stores, Armourer, Issuer, Hire Controller, Stores Controller, Building SuppliesCompany Summary:They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service, and maintenance.The Role* Plan and schedule all material transactions using computer-aided programs to minimise inventory and ensure a controlled release of material to maintain production needs.* Generate and maintain PBOM, LOB and Action Trackers* Responsible for the creation of detailed purchasing and validation plans* Responsible in identifying kitting requirements and develop and manage storage media for all consumable material at point of use.* Responsible for order placement* Co-ordination of supplier start up meetings and management of any resulting actions.* Responsible to interface with other functions/departments regarding all emerging material issues and project risks and generate / manage agreed action plan accordingly.* Plan material delivery requirements with the core overhaul team to develop delivery kits to provide the required material at all stages of production.* Design material footprints where required to ensure all delivered kitted material is decanted and stored in a safe and secure environment.* Ensure (expediting) material Kits are delivered in compliance with the respective overhaul schedule.* Generate a system with kit suppliers that constantly reviews current stock levels to maintain kit availability.* Provide action plans where necessary to resolve all material shortages prior to kit being required.* Set up and manage all contingency spare requirements during overhaul.* Attend weekly / daily production meetings during overhaul programme as and when required.* Ensure Inventory is maintained within business guidelines during overhauls through scheduled deliveries.* Responsible for the requirement of ACOP 1003 regarding Safety Critical material through new part purchase or overhauls - To include CSRs and FAIs* Generate KPIs and manage accordingly.* Ensure core material is not compromised throughout a planned overhaul (float management)* Be an active participant and represent Supply Chain within the top-level special projects management team when required.* To provide Supply Chain support for any reasonable identified activities / requirements.Qualifications & Functional KnowledgeExperience and qualifications* Knowledge of SAP* knowledge of Excel * Ability to make decisions* Good practices of costing, planning and risk management.Relevant experience required. * Good communications skills* Experienced in using computerised business tools (e.g., SAP, MS Office)* Clean Driving LicenceContact Information:Email: Phone: PLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEST BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION.Please note due to the volume of applications, we can only commit to contact those candidates we deem suitable for the position.
