We are currently looking for a Mass Spectrometry Proteomic Principal Scientist with extensive hand on experience of LC-MS/MS to join and innovative Biotechnology company based in the North West of the UK. As the Mass Spectrometry Proteomic Principal Scientist you will provide expert technical knowledge and run a range of LC-MS focused diagnostic experiments to support the discovery of predictive Biomarkers.This position would suit an experienced Scientist with hands on knowledge of designing, developing and executing protein Biomarker and Cell Signalling studies using LC-MS ( Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry ).KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Mass Spectrometry Proteomic Principal Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Establish an LC-MS platform, including library creation, for the discovery of Proteomic Biomarkers.2. Develop and validate Mass Spectrometry assays for the discovery and assessment of Biological compounds, using your knowledge of Proteins and Protein-Drug interactions to positively benefit diagnostic and predictive projects .3. You will troubleshoot, optimise and implement new processes for LC-MS assays for pre-clinical and clinical stage studies.4. You will collaborate closely with a range of groups across to business to support Biomarker discovery through LC-MS assays. You will also work closely with statisticians and data scientists to analyse data generated.ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Mass Spectrometry Proteomic Principal Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline, ideally with a Biological focus (e.g. Biology, Biopharmaceuticals, -omics studies) in addition to significant experience of designing and executing LC-MS studies to identify proteins Biomarkers and/or cell signalling pathways .2. Proven experience of developing LC-MS assays including a strong analytical background of Mass Spectrometry applications for Proteomic analysis. You will also ideally have experience of analysing large scale omics-based datasets.3.
