Job Description

Managing Director Basic Salary £80,000-£100,000, Annual Bonus, Car Allowance, PensionWe are recruiting for a Managing Director who has experience within bespoke manufacturing environments, ideally across the UK & Europe. Our client is a well established brand with longstanding customer relationships, and as such, require a Managing Director who can put themselves are the forefront of client engagement.The CompanyA passionate commitment to innovation, significant investment in new products, technology and skills, plus the flexibility to respond rapidly to changing customer needs.A market leader in the design and manufacture of industry leading products and associated services for a prestigious portfolio of large national and international end-user customers.Keen to capitalise on significant new business opportunities, in the UK, Europe and beyond there is a need to appoint a high calibre divisional Managing Director to join the senior management team, in order to further develop existing capability and expertise and lead the business through a period of tremendous change, growth and opportunity.Managing Director Role and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the ownership of the divisional P&L for highly profitable Manufacturing businesses within the division;
  • You will be required to develop routes to market in line with strong organic growth plans;
  • You will be expected to capitalise on significant new market opportunities, ensuring that ambitious profit and growth objectives are met;
  • You will be responsible for developing and enhancing the existing, successful sales team to greater levels of customer engagement, leading to increased sales;
  • You will be required to implement new processes and procedures to ensure the operation is in line with group standards and that all managers are working in line with these procedures;
  • You will drive international development strategy;
  • You will take ownership of transformation and cultural change through the engagement and development of employees at all levels;
  • You will be expected to successfully implement and drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles in order to maximise on operational and supply chain efficiency and profitability;
  • You will work closely with the Financial Controller on all aspects of the business financials;
  • You will be required to implement a culture of open communication across all levels; ensuring this is fed down to Managers and employee engagement is high;
  • You will work closely with HR Management on all people and HR related topics;
  • You will be responsible for harmonising commercial routes to market for both market leading brands within the division;
  • You will lead the development of new products in line with market opportunities; and
  • You will be expected to ensure commercial robustness across all areas of business, at all times.
  • Managing Director Skills
  • You will have strong and demonstrable experience in managing a multisite P&L for a manufacturing operation with international sites;
  • You will have a wealth of experience within a product assembly and manufacturing environment;
  • You will hold a successful track record of implementation and driving organic growth;
  • You will be an excellent, hands-on leader, that drives operational performance through engagement;
  • You will have a demonstrable track record in driving continuous improvement and lean to successfully achieve significant operational and business improvements;
  • You will have an excellent track record in identifying talent and driving a culture of people development and organic career growth;
  • You will have an excellent track record of commercialising new products and developing new regions & markets, both in the UK and overseas;
  • You will be competent in operating firmly and respectfully as a team player;
  • You will have excellent finance knowledge to include P&L, balance sheet and cash management;
  • You will have the ability to delegate effectively, ensuring that all delegated work and projects is completed by priority.
  • You will be confident working in a non-corporate environment, whilst also being comfortable working collaboratively with key stakeholders and Directors, ensuring key decisions are communicated.
