Job Description

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT / MANCHESTER (M24) / UP TO £35K & GREAT BENEFITSExciting opportunity for a talented, up and coming Management Accountant to join a long-standing, family-owned organisation with an excellent reputation. They put their people at the heart of everything they do and are committed to creating a fantastic working environment.Their busy Finance Department continues to grow and as such, they have an exciting new opening for a Management Accountant to join their dynamic team.The successful Management Accountant will take ownership of the balance sheet, ensuring monthly reconciliations are completed by all relevant members of the finance team & ensure a robust and consistent reconciliation process is in place.What’s in it for me

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:
  • Take ownership of the balance sheet, ensuring monthly reconciliations are completed by all relevant members of the finance team
  • Maintain robust controls that identify areas of risk and uncertainty, ensuring that exposure is minimal
  • Maintain the transactions for accounting for stock including the preparation and submission of monthly duty returns
  • Take ownership of stock accounting for packaged goods, ensuring that month end stock records are accurate for the monthly accounts
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare and post monthly depreciation journals
  • Work with the Property Team to ensure that all CAPEX projects are accounted for correctly and that capital and revenue elements are correctly identified for Capital Allowance purposes
  • Develop knowledge of business taxes with a view to future involvement in preparation of business tax submissions including VAT, PSA and Duty
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Fully or part qualified in either CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Previous experience of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Previous experience of accounting for a variety of taxes preferable
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Nav Dynamics would be a huge bonus
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written, with the ability to clarify and communicate complex issues to non-financial people
