Job Description

As part of our continuing expansion MCRactive is now looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hard-working Management Accountant to join our team.This role is full time (35 hours per week) however requests for part time hours or job share will be considered.Your New RoleJoining our team as a Management Accountant you will be the main finance contact across the wider MCRactive team. You will take the lead on all finance and management accounting tasks, and to support the Head of Central Support across a range of projectsand periodic reporting obligations. Other duties include:

  • Lead the month-end process, including reviewing ledger transactions for accuracy, production of journals, and compiling P&L, Balance Sheet and variance reporting
  • Maintain monthly fixed asset, prepayment, accrual, accrued income and deferred income records and ensure that figures are accurately released into the accounts.
  • Review and reconcile nominal ledger reports on a timely basis to ensure accuracy of trial balance figures.
  • Compile/oversee Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Management Accounts for distribution to relevant audiences.
  • Support the Head of Central Support with cash flow forecasting, including making investment duration/value recommendations.
  • Successfully complete the timely submission of periodic finance and tax returns and ensure compliance in all other matters relating to ONS, HMRC or Companies House.
  • Ensure costing assumptions used in the financial projections are accurate and up to date using appropriate internal and external sources.
  • Reconcile expenditure against successful funding awards, match to income accordingly, and track against bid submission expectations.
  • Review and authorise purchase ledger invoices for payment.

  • Experience of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Experience of completing financial accounts and monitoring budgets in a complex organisation.
  • Strong communicator including excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, friendly, polite, confident, and eager to support colleagues across the organisation.
  • Tenacious, thorough, and accurate, with good attention to detail.
  • Able to clearly define objectives, plans, activities and projects well in advance and take account of changing circumstances.
