Maintenance Engineering Manager role based in Manchester. Working for a well established market leading manufacturing companyClient DetailsOur client is a well established global manufacturing company based in Manchester.Description· Lead all aspects of the Site engineering function, ensuring effective control and development of systems,processes and people - maintenance, automation and tool room.· Focus on Health & Safety methods in the manufacturing areas and taking a proactive part inbenchmarking best practice and driving improvements to ensure a safe working environment for allemployees· Ensure safe systems of work are documented and implemented throughout site engineering functions· Ensure effective and regular communication with staff and peers to ensure priorities are clear and tomaximise manufacturing efficiency· Support direct reports to ensure safe, efficient and effective practices· Ensure robust training plans to develop and maintain key engineering skills keeping pace with bestpractice and latest technologies· Ensure robust succession plans are in place to deliver ongoing business continuity· Oversee engineering apprenticeships offering coaching and direction to apprentices· Implement and maintain an effective skills-based structure across all engineering function· Develop methods for measuring engineering performance (including regular performance feedbacksessions with teams)· Plan and manage departmental spend on key resources against budget (labour, materials and capitalequipment) identifying and realising cost improvement opportunities wherever possible· Manage engineering projects (installation / introduction of new equipment and technologies) asrequired· Work closely with the Site Operations Management, Quality, HSE and other supporting functions toensure a team-based approach to manufacturing excellence· Ensure effective monitoring of core KPIs to ensure continuous performance improvement: Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Labour Efficiency, Quality Performance and Waste· Develop real-time performance measurement, communication and visual management systems to maximise manufacturing performance· Ensure effective use of available maintenance reporting tools with regular and accurate analysis of data to support continuous improvement of manufacturing performance· Support and coach staff in Problem Solving, Continuous improvement and Lean techniques to drive manufacturing performance · Focused on creating, leading and continually developing a robust TPM programme· Oversee and develop the interrelationships of all engineering functions within the wider site team to ensure an integrated one team culture· Manage engineering projects (Installation / introduction of new equipment Focus on the development of manufacturing processes, manufacturing systems / technologies and human resources to drive enhanced business performance· Develop a data-driven system to ensure proactive replacement plans for capital equipment· Ensure ongoing plans for maintenance and development of site infrastructure and facilities· Define and prioritise opportunities to automate providing a data-driven business case to secure capital investmentProfile· Proven manufacturing experience within an engineering leadership role· Track record of successfully managing and developing teams and individuals· Experience in designing, implementing and improving a TPM system· Experience in applying CI / Lean principles in a manufacturing setting· Experience in an injection moulding (Preferred but not essential)· Project Management experience· IOSH: Managing Safely qualification / Occupational Health & Safety qualification (Preferred)· Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word· Data-driven and analyticalJob Offer£65,000 to £70,000 plus bonus and benefits
