Job Description

Location/Workplace Policy: Trafford with 1 day working from homeSalary: Up to £40k (DOE) + perksWith a rich reputation across the Manufacture and Exporting game as a trusted and reliable brand that takes care of their customers and employees alike (they have a 99% quality rating), our client is a rapidly expanding apparel organisation based in theheart of Trafford.To support their further projected growth and expansion plans we are looking for a confident and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator or Manager with a background in commercial freight to join their team and help implement and mould the logistics functionacross the business.On top of being the main driving force behind detail-oriented tasks and ensuring strong relationships are formed with freight forwarders, youll also need to be a highly methodical and capable budgeter and leader that enjoys supporting colleagues and gettingthe most out of your team.Key responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contract buy rates on a local basis with major ocean and airline carriers for imports.
  • Take immediate responsibility over the whole import process for road, air and sea shipments
  • Regularly forecast air, sea and road shipments with the aim being to support sales targets and planned inventory
  • Establish a relationship with the 4 international offices to plan and forecast intake.
  • Build strong relationships with the freight forwarders
  • Remain aware of the wider industry and any legislation changes
  • Periodically check import documentation and Letters of credit
  • Ensure freight forwarders are supplying correct documentation for shipments
  • Work alongside the buying and merchandising team and ensure they are up to date with shipment status, delays, freight/port issues.
  • Review logistics budgets and look at actual V.s forecasted.
Candidate requirements:
  • Highly confident personality that can independently manage freight forwarders and stakeholders and set budgets prices etc.
  • Previous experience setting and achieving KPIs
  • Demonstrable freight management experience
  • Skilled at working to budgets
  • Empathetic but skilled leader that can guide others to success
