Job Description

As the Paralegal or Litigation Executive you will provide and deliver a quality service to all internal and external customers and clients, through the execution of tasks from file allocation to closure in an accurate, proactive, and efficient manner.You will be responsible for managing client matters to provide a high level of client care whilst maintaining adherence to our National Practice Standards.At Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK) we are inclusive.   • Ensure efficient file management including adherence to timescales, compliance with precedents, letters, or documents on the case management system.
  • Delegate to more junior fee earners and legal support staff to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and court, or other, deadlines are adhered to.
  • Communicates risk issues to clients, own manager, and finance as appropriate.
  • Understands their practice groups objectives and how these relate to their own area of responsibility.
  • Applies a good understanding of the area of law of their own Practice Group.
  • Is up to date with all core legal developments in own Practice Group.
  • Oversees and produces complex documents, briefs, and affidavits through plain English (verbal and written communication).
  • Manages client meetings, sets expectations with clients, and leads negotiations with minimal guidance.
  • Makes appropriate cross-referrals to other areas of the firm.
  • Receives and documents complaints and recognises any signs of dissatisfaction of clients as specified in the National Practice Standards procedures.
  • Provide supervision to junior staff in the team.
  • Participate and support senior fee earners in marketing opportunities including networking and contribution to blogs, media commentary etc within Slater and Gordon guidelines if required.
  • About You:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant practice and business IT systems, particularly Mattersphere and Aderant
  • Excellent typing skills (minimum wpm 45)
  • Relevant work experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work from various stakeholders
  • Proficient user of Office packages and Practice Management System
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to think logically and analytically

  • Good attention to detail
