Job Description

Linux AdministratorAbout your new companyNQC is a successful and growing Manchester City Centre based software company specialising in supply chain risk management platforms. Our online web platforms are in use by some of the largest organisations across a number of industries including the UK Government, the Automotive industry and the Defence & Aerospace industry.About your new jobWe are currently on the look out for a passionate, technically minded Linux Administrator to join our internal IT team.Key responsibilities will include;

  • Developing, configuring, managing and upgrading the physical and virtual (Linux) systems
  • Providing exceptional system support to server infrastructures
  • Managing and developing virtual hosting technologies, back office applications and system monitoring software.
  • Patching, upgrading, antivirus installation and overall security of the Linux and virtual infrastructure,
  • Assisting in the design and security of supporting technical architecture
  • Liaising with an array of stakeholders to collaboratively ensure minimal downtime and disruption and executing root cause analysis to eliminate underlying or potential issues.
  • About youTo apply for this role you must have;
  • Experience of Linux systems administration in a hosting environment
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting Apache, MySQL, Asterisk.
  • Experience of network/infrastructure administration.
  • Exposure to diagnosing various server issues using standard open source tools.
  • Exposure to command line scripting.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Javascript (Google Apps Scripts).
