Job Description

Legal Accounts Assistant/ Legal Sector/ Accounts Payable/ Sales Ledger/ Excellent Benefits/ Agile Working (3 Days in The Office) I am looking for a Sales and Purchase Ledger Clerk from a Legal Accounts background to join my clients internationally operating Legal Accounts Team based in Manchester City Centre.This position will suit somebody with 12 months + experience in either a Sales ledger, Billing, Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant capacity who is keen to continue their accounting career within the legal sector.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Attention to detail, flexibility and a can-do attitude are prerequisites for this role.

  • All aspects of sales and purchase ledger duties for a busy Solicitors Practice including client drafting invoices, posting purchase invoices, disbursements, and any associated queries.
  • Providing administrative support for the general management of the business and assisting the Finance Team with other financial and commercial tasks.
  • Managing the sales ledger process to ensure that invoices are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitoring the sales ledger inbox to determine which requests to prioritise and ensuring that queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly purchase ledger payment runs
  • Management and resolution of any supplier queries.
  • Posting purchase ledger and disbursement invoices that are sent to the team.
  • Preparation of reconciliations, reports, and ad hoc information as requested by the Finance Manager
  • Undertake any further work, tasks or projects as reasonably requested by the Finance Manager or Assistant Accountant.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of; billing, accounts payable or sales ledger processes (ideally gained within the legal sector)
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
  • Excellent listening skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.

  • An excellent degree of attention to detail.

  • Knowledge and experience of SRA Accounting rules and legal sector accounting processes is highly advantageous
