Job Description

Empowering Learning are working on behalf of a Manchester based College and are seeking to appoint an experienced Lecturer in Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills who is able to contribute to the successful delivery of the BSc (Hons) Psychology,FdSc and BSc (Hons) top-up Counselling & Psycho-therapeutic Skills.As Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching a range of high-quality modules within the discipline. Monitoring and reporting on all aspects of course performance including attendance...You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.The successful candidate will have a proven record in inspirational teaching at HE level and have a demonstrable commitment to teaching and learning excellence. As a practice-experienced professional, able to apply your experience in teaching your students,you ideally will be registered with the BACP, UKCP, HCPC or equivalent.The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of psychology, counselling and psycho-therapeutic skills, and be confident teaching undergraduate students at levels 4 - 6.This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to develop their academic career in a small and friendly environment, whilst utilising their background in practice to enrich the student experience.Requirements:

  • Good honours degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy or a related discipline.
  • Membership of the BACP, UKPC, HCPC or equivalent professional body.
  • Experience of teaching Higher Education courses.
  • Track record as an effective and innovative teacher.
  • Knowledge of the QAA Quality Code
  • Evidence of working with stakeholders to develop educational programmes
