Squire Patton Boggs have an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Advisor to join their team based in one of their regional offices.Location: Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester with regular travel to all our other officesSalary: Competitive + BenefitsHours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday - flexibility essentialWe are looking for a Learning & Development Advisor to join our Human Resources team. In the role you will help shape and deliver our L&D strategy though the design and delivery of engaging and impactful learning solutions that enable our people to thrive in their career.This a hands on role that will involve the day to day running of learning programmes and collaboration with the team on long term projects. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London.Learning & Development Advisor - Our Team:Our UK HR team consists of our core generalist HR team (responsible for our UK fee earners, support staff and secretarial staff populations), Resourcing, Projects, Learning & Development, Payroll and Rewards & Benefits. The Learning & Development Advisor will report to the Head of Learning and Development, and work closely with the wider HR team.Learning & Development Advisor - Our Opportunity:This is a fantastic opportunity to shape our emerging talent strategy by leading on the design and delivery of our approach to the SQE and paralegal apprenticeship programmes. You will also be responsible for our associate development programme, support on the design and delivery of leadership development programmes as well as support function training.You will develop engaging blended learning content and, by keeping up to date on external L&D trends, you will continue to develop our learning offerings. You will ensure our learning programmes are applicable to our people in the context of working in a global law firm and meet all CPD requirements. You will also support individual training requirements and assist the Head of L&D with ad hoc projects as required.You will assist in compliance training requirements and support in the organisation, administration and reporting of learning, including maintaining our LMS.This is a very varied and busy role in which no two days will be the same! You will be highly organised and able to manage a varied workload whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You will be a creative and innovative thinker who is able to contribute new ideas and approaches to the delivery of learning.You will have experience designing and delivering apprentice and graduate development programmes (an understanding of the SQE and experience in legal apprenticeships will be a significant advantage) and you will have worked in a law firm (or a similar professional services environment).Above all, you will have a track record of achieving long lasting behaviour change through learning using the full learning and development cycle and by partnering with key stakeholders to really understand and deliver on business needs.Experience creating engaging learning in multiple formats, including live and on demand is a must and you will have strong facilitation skills in both face to face and virtual environments.You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.Experience of Microsoft Office is essential with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
