Job Description

Were supporting our clients as they adapt to the unprecedented circumstances brought about by COVID-19. As a result, were currently only recruiting for essential roles during this time. All interviews, assessments and background checks will take place online, to completely remove the need for face-to-face contact.Its important to note that most of our sites are now closed and employees are working remotely where they can. Where offices are required to stay open, we are following government guidelines on personal hygiene standards, daily cleaning of employee work areas, maintaining safe distances and limiting the number of people in the office at one time. We also have clear policies on business travel and continuity.The welfare of our people is of paramount importance to us, and were doing everything we can to keep our employees and customers safe during this time.The Lead Security Architect will provide support to the CISO and other security initiatives within the organisation to help drive standardisation, efficiency and innovation. Leading and mentor the security architects, based across all Smart DCC sites, and ensure that the wider design community understand the security principles we adopt and how they are expected to be followed. Accountable for the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Security Architecture and supporting risk assessments such that any changes or initiatives can be assessed against the baseline. Maintain full oversight of the end to end architecture to ensure that security controls are developed and assured in a manner which provides traceability to the operational and regulatory requirements.What youll be doing:

  • Develop, document and embed the Security Architecture within the end to end development and assurance process
  • Ensure that security outcomes within Design, Test and Operations are clearly defined and measured
  • Engage with our customers, partners and other stakeholders to ensure that requirements are understood, and security controls enable those requirements to be met
  • Attending Industry or Government committees as required to represent DCC Security Architecture
  • Ensure that all changes to the solution are appropriately assessed for any security impact
  • Consult on all other technical security aspects of the Smart DCC programmes and support the Smart DCC Security Team to drive excellence
  • To analyse changes in the threats and/or business requirements that may impact the effectiveness of the security controls with the Smart DCC system
  • To maintain awareness of leading technologies and products to help delivery innovation, efficiency and quality within the security solution
    • What were looking for:

    • Essential:
  • Appropriate qualifications in application, infrastructure and/or network technologies such as CCSA, CCSE, CCSP, CompTIA
  • CISSP or CISM
  • TOGAF or SABSA
  • CESG Certified Professional - IA Architect
  • Knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure and associated risks
  • Knowledge of the energy industry
  • Existing / established relationships with Ofgem and Industry representatives
  • Good knowledge of Smart Energy Code and Smart DCC Licence Conditions
  • Knowledge of Smart Metering Implementation Programme and Smart DCCs role
    • About Smart DCC LimitedA wholly owned subsidiary of Capita plc, was awarded the Smart Meter Communication License by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change on 23 September 2013. DCC is a special purpose vehicle created to carry out the Authorised Business of the License, which is primarily to establish and manage the smart metering communication service for Great Britain. In 2016, DCC launched the data communications infrastructure to enable the nationwide rollout of 53 million electricity and gas smart meters by 2020. Smart meters represent a once in a generation opportunity to transform the energy industry. The rollout of smart meters will help consumers to better understand and manage their energy usage and to make better informed decisions about how they buy their energy. Accurate, near real-time information captured by smart meters will support the energy market in becoming more responsive, efficient and flexible.The DCC smart meter communication service is a crucial enabler for the energy industry. The service will allow suppliers to install meters in every home and small business across Great Britain. Funded by the energy industry, the DCC network will connect smart meters to the business systems of energy suppliers, network operators and other authorised Users, such as third-party intermediaries. It will offer a secure, consistent service for all energy suppliers and avoid the complexity and duplicated costs of energy suppliers procuring their own networks.
