PLEASE NOTE: You MUST register and apply on our AQA Job Portal in order for your application to be considered for this roleLead DevOps Engineer - AzureManchesterPermanentSalary: North £44,123 - £50,772 + additional benefitsAQA have an exciting opportunity for a Lead DevOps Engineer - Azure to drive DevOps practices, implement automated pipelines, and configure, and maintain dev and test environments. In this role you will need to demonstrate these same values with both Internal stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers to a high standard.In this role you’ll be: Ensuring efficient and effective software delivery throughout a continuous integration / continuous deployment life cycle, driving the adoption of DevOps practices and delivery framework for software development.Operating across software development and operational deployment teams throughout all stages of the development and removing barriers to delivery.Driving continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle, working closely with all stakeholders whilst utilising and embedding Agile and Lean practices. Acting as a role model for the behaviours required from the development and operations teams in particular solutions focus and collaboration.You will have:

  • Ability to develop Azure Resources using one or more recognised delivery tools for that purpose i.e. ARM, Terraform
  • Ability to develop and configure Azure DevOps build and release pipelines and any related tool to facilitate automated builds
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
  • Have demonstrable experience of applying Agile and Lean practices in a development context and an understanding of how they are utilised in a DevOps context
  • Have hands on experience of Managing Azure DevOps Platform and a deep understanding of the Azure eco-system
  • Have to the expertise to lead the definition and support of the Azure delivery platform in complex engagements, typically working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Have the ability to challenge AQA Suppliers on deliverables
  • Commercial experience across designing, deploying and managing cloud environments in Azure.
  • Standing up Azure artefacts (queues, storage accounts/shares, key vaults entries)
  • Considerable experience building and configurating software development and test environments in medium to large enterprises using Azure DevOps
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps tooling and practical experience supporting teams to adopt it.
  • You will be able to:
  • Set monitoring for Performance/Capacity/Availability and alerts for Azure Platform and report on the utilization of the Azure estate
  • Gain assurance of Azure deliverables from 3rd parties and creating a CICD pipeline for their delivered artefacts into production.
  • Use Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
  • Support and enable teams delivery through technology.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Environment/Release Management principles
  • Provide technical support for Azure Security audits
  • Support the Security team to implement policies and procedures in PTL.
  • Technical Skills
  • Build tools (Azure DevOps, YAML, Terraform) and Release management (AzureDevOps)
  • Building Release Agents
  • ADO Pipeline
  • PowerShell scripts
  • Azure APIM
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, ARM Templates
  • Experience of pipeline build/deploy tools such as Azure Pipelines
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI , Sharepoint and Biztalk servers is highly desirable
