Job Description

Role: Lead Devops EngineerCompany: AWAZE (Cottages.com | Hoseasons | Novasol)Location: Manchester (3 days office, 2 days remote)Welcome to AWAZE.To deliver on our promise of "everyday amazing holidays", we’re moving full steam ahead with our growth plans for 2021 and are investing heavily in new tech to UNIFY our brands, TRANSFORM the experience of our Guests & Owners and CREATE something special for the staycations market.As our COO says, "We’re building out a new international technology and digital team as we embark on a transformational journey to create something simply unique in the vacations market.Role IntroAs our platforms continues to grow, the systems and cloud infrastructure behind our product must be intelligently designed and built to withstand peaks and troughs in demand.As our Lead Devops Engineer, youll be a driving force on this mission, ensuring best-in-class design and implementation of the next phase of our infrastructure. Youll be empowered to make architectural decisions and drive change if theres a more intelligent solution; we iterate and move quickly.Day-to-day you will:

  • Empower our engineering teams to take ownership of the operation, performance and availability of our services.
  • Play a key role in the build-out, migration to, and operation of a containerised infrastructure using Kubernetes and ECS.
  • Lead the build of a new CICD build pipeline and associated cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Analyze current solutions used within the team and make recommendation for improvements.
  • Improve, Measure, Automate, Repeat.
  • Help drive continuous improvement in software development practices.
  • Be an active member of the DevOps and wider tech community within Awaze
    • What You’ll OfferWith significant commercial experience designing, deploying and managing enterprise cloud environments, you’ll thrive in an autonomous product engineering function and enjoy problems, we have many to solve.Must haves:
  • Proven commercial experience of building & administering AWS infrastructure in production (EC2, RDS, S3).
  • Cloud security (IAM, Security Groups & NACLs, bucket policies).
  • Infra-as-code tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation
  • Linux fundamentals and scripting (bash, Python).
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines: GoCD, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc
  • Experience managing artifact management tools : Sonatype Nexus, JFrog Artifactory
