Job Description

Lead Design / Applications Engineer (Seals + Pumps)£65,000 + Performance Based Bonus + Early Finish Friday + PensionManchesterDo you have a background in Design, with any knowledge of seals, pumps and valves seeking a position within a company at the forefront of the Fluoropolymer industry, which will offer you an excellent bonus and pension package as well as potential developmentinto various parts of the business, where you will take a technical lead, working with blue chip clients within exciting industries to design and develop leading-edge fluid-handling productsDo you have any knowledge of Sealing Design parameters, and an understanding of any design tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks or Inventor, where you will play a pivotal role within a highly successful company, supplying to clients such as Airbus and BAE Systems,as well as other global leaders, with the ability to add direct value through the production of world-class design solutions, leading on design and verification, with a focus on R&DThe company are an innovative and pioneering fluoropolymer processer with sites across the UK and Europe, which specialise in the manufacture of complex components, seals and coatings. They have been operating for over 60 years, meeting the needs of a clientelethat includes worldwide market leaders, in a range of industries form Oil and Gas to the aerospace and automotive sectors.They are looking for a Lead Design / Application Engineer with any knowledge of sealing designThe role:

  • Liaise with clients to understand their design requirements, working on projects from conception to completion, looking to fully understand design requirements, then working alongside them to provide cutting-edge solutions
  • Design and develop bespoke fluid handling products / solutions to clients specifications
  • Take a leadership role in design validation and qualification testing, planning R&D projects
  • Work in collaboration with the R&D, for the development of new materials and formulations
  • Conduct comprehensive design validation activities for valves, including stress calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and other relevant design validation methodologies
  • Work with internal teams to optimise the development of sealing solutions

  • Design or Applications Engineer, with experience of sealing design parameters
  • FEA experience
