We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist for an established company who are looking to expand their 30 strong Data Team.This role is a managerial position, it would be a great opportunity to progress in your career to lead a team, including Junior / Graduate Data Scientists, being responsible for their development.Therefore having leadership qualities is very important, you will also need knowledge of Python, Machine learning and some statistical knowledge.Role: Lead Data Scientist Location: Manchester - Hybrid role, 2 days a week in the officeSalary: £60,000 + 25% Bonus + BenefitsSkills: Python / SQL / Machine LearningOscar Technologies have worked with this client for 6 years to build their Data Team. This is a great team to be a part of, in the past we placed their "Head of" (who at the time was an analyst but has progressed). They always look to promote from withinand they have a dedicated grad scheme for Data Science to ensure they always have strong, well trained individuals in the team.This role is effectively the leader of a small Data Science team, within a larger group of around 30 people. This is a managerial position and you will be managing a number of Junior / Graduate Data Scientists and be responsible for their development.The company have a variety of Data Driven products within the business, these are business critical and the team are responsible for the development, upgrades and maintenance of these using a variety of Machine Learning techniques.You will be building and integrating data analytics products , evaluating data outputs prior to use across the business and surfacing key evidence-backed insights from data and produce visualisations.Responsibilities* Building and integrating data analytics products* Writing and reviewing SQL and Python code, aligned to current team best practices* Creating data insights and data visualisations.* Lead the team, including Junior / Graduate data scientistsSkills* Python * SQL* Machine Learning * Experience as a Data Scientist in Industry, ideally 4+ years.The PersonWe are looking for a driven, motivated individual with leadership qualities.
