Job Description

LC-MS QToF AnalystRole open to a range of experience levels from £35,000 up to £55,000Global Contract testing companyBased in Greater Manchester - commutable from Warrington, Altrincham, Knutsford, Stockport, ManchesterA truly Global company that provides services to the Pharmaceutical industry is looking to appoint an experienced Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry - Quad Time of Flight (LC-MS QToF) Analyst to their state of the art facility in Greater Manchester.The successful candidate will have in-depth experience of LC-MS QTOF analyses including protocol and report writing. In this role, you will have responsibility for the oversight of all LCMS QTOF work and will be the "go to" person for any technical queriesfrom Clients and internal stakeholders in LC-MS QToF.You will be expected to be the subject matter expert to develop and execute experimental studies that characterize materials. The data generated plays a pivotal role in demonstrating the safety of materials in the application in which they are used. Thescientist in this role will maintain a focus on innovation, process improvement, and operational initiatives.Duties:

  • Perform controlled, forced or simulated use extractions of container-closure systems, devices or manufacturing equipment, analyze extracts for non-volatiles by LC-MS QTOF in support of pharmaceutical product development or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Develop methods for compounds on stability, write and review study protocols, and generate study reports
  • Apply practical and theoretical expertise in LCMS techniques to develop and execute non-routine experimental protocols
  • Lead internal initiatives that enhance the operational excellence of the team
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts to develop strategies that align to regulatory requirements for medical devices and pharmaceuticals
  • Interface with internal partners to interpret complex analytical data; including quantitative, structural elucidation and toxicological assessment
Qualifications and experience:
  • Educated to Degree level in a Chemistry related subject
  • Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with significant and relevant experience
  • Experience managing a team an advantage
  • Conversant in the regulatory requirements
  • Ability to design experiments and draw meaningful conclusions from lab data
  • Experience with polymer resins or material selection for the design and manufacturing of packaging systems preferred
