Job Title - Junior Content EditorLocation - ManchesterSalary - £21,000Bonus structure - Company bonuses include a holiday loyalty programme (you will gain 1 days holiday for every year worked) and a 6% bonus of salary scheme via KPIs.Type of employment - Full timeWho will the person report to - Senior Content EditorJob descriptionFocus 5 recruitment are working with a exciting media agency who are looking for a Content Editor.Its Gone Viral is on the hunt for an NCTJ-qualified Junior Writer/Editor who has a passion for trending news. They will be tasked with sourcing and writing multiple stories a day, from serious news pieces to fun features, guides, and profiles. They willbe expected to pitch original ideas, carry out interviews, and be ready to jump on breaking news stories as they happen.Objectives of this role -As a member of the Editorial team, you will be expected to source and write a number of articles that will be published on our in-house brands such as Its Gone Viral.You will be expected to turn around copy quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, breaking-news style environment, pitch original ideas and carry out interviews. Working with the Senior Content Editor and wider Editorial team, you will receive comprehensive feedback and experience within a busy newsroom and you will also learn how to optimise your writing for SEO and how to package your articles for a range ofsocial media platforms. Necessary skills -NCTJ diploma (sound media law knowledge is vital to this role)Passion for trending news Highly organisedAbility to work well under pressure Career progression opportunities - Junior Writer could progress to Writer then Senior Writer then Junior Editor then Editor then Senior Editor etc
