A well known Educational Institution in Manchester is looking to take on an experienced and dynamic Java Developerto join their vibrant and fast moving IT Services department on a permanent basisIT Services is responsible for running one of the largest lecture capture systems in the world, with hundreds of recording systems, hundreds of thousands of users and millions of views annually. An opening has arisen for a Java Developer to join the MediaTechnologies Team, where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend software of the highly successful lecture capture service.You will be a proficient Java developer with proven agile development skills, able to utilize a DevOps approach to system management and deployment. You will also have a solid technical background, with a firm understanding of software engineering, softwareand systems architectureWhat are they looking for
  • Excellent Java development skills with significant time of working on large code bases
  • Proven SQL database experience
  • Proficient web application skills, HTML, Javascript and CSS
  • Significant experience of using DevOps tools
  • Proficient in using Linux and understanding how it is used in development and deployment environments
