Job Description

  • Role: IT Support Specialist (Permanent)
  • Working Pattern: On-site with some remote working
  • Location: Manchester
  • Salary: up to £35k
A Medical equipment manufacture based in Manchester is looking to take on a IT Support Specialist to join their IT team to provide commercial technical supportMain Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote (telephone, remote desktop) and on-site technical support to a large UK / Ireland / European customer base
  • Prioritise and resolve customer complaints, talking clients through a series of actions to resolve their issues
  • Maintain support call history
  • Ensure a high standard of service for customers at all times, resolving problems effectively
  • Assist with training
Software development
  • Test and document new software modules
  • Support the roll-out of software upgrades
Hardware
  • Installing and configuring new computer hardware, operating systems and applications
  • Troubleshooting issues with computer hardware, and either repair/resolve them or escalate to manufacturer
What are they looking for
  • Must have good knowledge of SQL, together with commercial experience (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)
  • At least one year of experience installing operating systems and replacing computer parts, either commercial experience or hobbyist work
  • At least one years experience providing software support
  • Good networking knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
