Job Description

IT Support EngineerSalary £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)IT Support Engineer– the role:I’m currently working with an exciting software company based in central Manchester, who are looking to bring in a talented and ambitious IT Engineer to work alongside the IT Director. This role will be a great opportunity for any individual who is looking to support modern tools across Wintel, Linux and Networking technologies. The client is a market leading firm whose software is utilised across video games globally. You will be given vast opportunity to work on some very exciting projects, whilst also working with the IT Director to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology across the firm.The role of IT Support Engineer will mainly be to provide 1st – 3rd line IT support and to act as a point of contact for IT issues across the business. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include taking calls and logging incidents, providing help-desk support, monitoring daily backups and assisting the IT team in the maintance of the hardware and software.IT Support Engineer - Essential skills:

  • Good understanding of windows server technologies
  • Active Directory administration, including group policy
  • Basic switch and firewall admin experience
  • Any VMware or Hyper-V experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Interest or background in gaming, animation, motion capture or VFX
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Any relevant qualifications (ITIL, MCSE, CISA, MCSA, CEH)
  • Linux
  • Basic understanding of scripting
  • Cyber security standards
