As an IT Network Engineer you will deploy, maintain and improve the Rubix UK enterprise networking environment by working closely with the Infrastructure and Operations teams, identifying network/system requirements and trends, configuring network devicesand services, managing updates and installs, problem resolution, monitoring network performance and ensuring IT configuration and build standards are maintained.Your role: Configure, Maintain, repair and improve UK networks including BAU, deployment and major upgrade activities following Rubix Group standards where applicable Provide network mid-level support to UK Maintain and apply knowledge of current trends and new advances in technology Play a key role in the transition from legacy architecture to more modern technologies by researching and recommending new technologies Respond to all incidents and requests on the Service Desk Management system, maintain active communications and ensure all parties are aware of the status. Help to resolve and progress incidents, requests and problems; provide suitable workarounds and/or contingencies where possible Deliver excellent service to the UK business Install, configure, repair and support of network equipment and VPN solutions where required Assist with software upgrades to ensure latest releases of firmware are adhered to Proactively identify recurring incidents and initiate problem management processes and procedures to address underlying root causes of incidents Support and contribute to change management Availability, health and performance monitoring of IT network, including configuration (e.g. health agents, SNMP settings etc) and basic troubleshooting, network discovery, polling and alarming mechanisms for managed systems Liaise with group security with regards to regular security/ vulnerability scans and remediate issues Provide out-of-hours cover on a rota basis Occasional travel to other UK sites, for which suitable travel options will be provided Occasional International travel maybe required to companies in Ireland and Iceland - UK passport will be required Manage and support IT operations projectsYour experience: Strong Networking (Firewalls/Switching/Routing/VLANs) Fortigate experience using Fortimanager HP and Arista switches Wireless technologies VPN clients for end user compute VPN for strategic partners Awareness of Virtual networking (VMware, Hyper-V etc)* Analytical skills applied to diagnostics and fault-finding* Good communication skills both verbal and written* Experience of working in a similar technical role* Experience working to SLA and KPI measures* Self-motivated with strong service ethicYou may have (but this isnt essential): Microsoft Azure Cloud Experience of branch-based retail or wholesale distribution environment Cisco Microsoft Stack (Windows, AD, Group Policies etc)Whats in it for you:A competitive base salary22 days annual leave increasing to 25Pension SchemeBut, maybe more importantly we offer you a role in which you can make your own and develop within, we have our Rubix Academy which provides training and development opportunities and we operate in an entrepreneurial environment and look to our colleaguesto make a real difference for the business!
