Job Description

IT EngineerManchesterWelcome to Clarity the Business Travel ExpertsClarity provides global Corporate Travel Management and conference and events services to organisations in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Clarity has a turnover in excess of £500m per annum, and is a global, multi award winning, UK top 10 Travel Management Company.Due to an exciting year of growth we are now looking for an IT Engineerto join our IT team in Manchester.As part of this role you will be responsible for assisting with desk-side support incidents and changes and project related tasksThis is a varied role, as part of which you will be involved in the following;Deskside supportAs part of the IT Business Support team assist with or resolve any incidents, problems or requests. Examples include (but are not limited to)

  • User issues with our travel software (e.g. Galileo, Conferma etc.)
  • Password resets
  • Desktop / laptop builds
  • AD management
  • Microsoft 365 management
  • AV management and updates
  • Application patching and updates
  • Asset management
  • Network patching and problem solving
  • Printer problem solving
  • iPhone set-up and problem solving
  • IP telephony set-up and problem solving
  • SecurityAs an ISO27001, BS10012, ISO22301 and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited business you must always carry out your role according to company IT policies working closely with the IT Compliance Manager.Some examples of actions this would include :Confidentiality
  • Ensure appropriate file permissions are set
  • Verify AD set-up is as per company policy
  • Verify Microsoft 365 set-up is as per company policy
  • Verify AV set-up is as per company policy including memory stick blocking etc.
  • Assist with user education
  • Availability
  • Check and be ready for disaster recovery or business continuity plans to be brought into action
  • Carry out critical checks that enable proactive action to prevent any significant failure
  • Small ProjectsAssist with small projects as required. Examples of this might be (but not limited to) a branch move, network link upgrade, desk move, upgrading of printers, rollout of Mobile Device Management etc.To be successful our ideal applicant will;
  • A demonstrable enthusiasm for IT
  • A collaborative working style
  • Ability to provide friendly internal customer service even when under pressure
  • A determination to get things done within SLA
  • An ability to problem solve / gather required knowledge with minimal supervision
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Windows 10, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking
  • Ability to build desktops / laptops and troubleshoot
  • Current or recent experience working in a similar role
  • Proven record in a fast paced commercial environment
