We endeavour to approach the status quo of an established industry with fresh eyes.The Role:We are looking for a bright, energetic talent who can partner with senior management and IT teams to enhance the quality of our IT controls environment, and improve the documentation and controls mind-set in IT by robustly challenging and management-testing our IT SOX controls. This will include ITGCs, IUC (data sources behind business controls), automated controls, and End User Computing (where the business relies heavily on e.g. MS Excel).This is a new role. As such there is a real opportunity to shape new processes and structures and have a visible and important impact. You will be well supported and sit within the central SOX team rather than IT to retain independence and team spirit, but you will also be unique and can make this IT testing role your own and develop it your way.Responsibilities:•Delivery of the IT part of the SOX Management testing programme for a £15bn turnover company•Remain on top of scoping the IT systems, interfaces, and changes relevant for the SOX processes• Define processes so that SOX compliance aspects are factored into major change programmes and throughout the lifecycle of outsourcing arrangements•Perform formally documented pre audit testing to ensure all IT controls are being performed and documented in accordance with requirements, and Track and Monitor performance of the controls to ensure they are executed in a timely fashion (or are still continuously operational) throughout the year•Support the end-to-end SOX and internal control procedures in IT, assisting the Heads of Internal controls as part of the overall programme. This could involve the alignment of controls between Group and Local Markets and managing control effectiveness throughout the year alongside (documented) continuous improvement of controls design•Prepare and maintain supporting documentation on Key IT SOX controls•Work with the business and the SOX team to identify improvements in IT controls, and flag system and software changes in advance. Drive maturity and efficiencies, including automation•Ensure IT control deficiencies are tracked and remediated in agreed timelines• Provide regular progress and status reports to senior management and escalate issues as required•Support the preparation of SOX reporting and commentary in IT, for review by global management• Support the external auditors as single/main point of IT contactQualifications:•Experience in complex IT environments and different technologies (operating systems, SQL databases, Oracle Cloud) and supporting processes• General understanding of the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley act section 404, the implications from an IT perspective and preferably knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, COSO Internal Control - Integrated Framework or ISO 27001 processes and controls• Must have IT audit experience, preferably controls-testing focused. Additional experience in broader financial audit / finance is a distinct asset.• The ideal candidate is looking to leave the Big 4 after achieving at least Manager level in IT assurance work•Be a strong communicator (fluent English) and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business, to director level, and to respect different opinions and ideas•Have a questioning and inquisitive mind - not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate•Takes personal responsibility and accountability for their work - you will own everything reported.•Be flexible and adaptable - this is a key role demonstrating the control environment and bridging the communications between IT and the business / SOX team, so there will be times it will be required to step up and move out of their comfort zonePeople are key to our continuing success and we work hard to reward, develop and retain staff.
