Job Description

Title: IP Test EngineerSalary: £40,000 - £60,000Location: Remote (UK)The IP Test Engineer role seeks highly skilled IP test engineers who possess technical expertise and a deep understanding of the Verification, Validation, and Testing process. These professionals should be adept at collaborating with others to enhance testingpractices and improve project outcomes.In this diverse and demanding role, you will conduct tests while continually striving to enhance team productivity, deliver superior quality items, and add value to our customers.Key Responsibilities:

  • Devise effective test approaches, monitor testing progress, and provide insightful reports on results. Demonstrate proficiency in handling specific devices under test.
  • Advocate automation-first practices and involve stakeholders and teammates in the process of defining requirements and test cases.
  • Recognize the significance of maintaining test harnesses, packs, and cases for long-term sustainability.
  • Exhibit expertise in deploying and utilizing test tools in real-world scenarios. Take ownership of test harnesses, test case generation, regression tests, and test suites.
  • Collaborate closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams throughout the network and platform testing lifecycle.
  • Cultivate relationships with global Architecture, IP Engineering, and IP Operations teams to support network deployment and address network support issues.
  • Develop and contribute to comprehensive test plans based on network designs and test requirements.
  • Utilize testing findings to create methodologies and procedures that facilitate successful deployment of new technologies in the production network.
Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Ansible, NAPALM, Netmiko/Paramiko, etc.
  • Familiarity with REST API.
  • Experience working with version control systems like GIT.
  • Competence in using test automation tools such as RENAT, PIE test.
  • Expertise in testing layer-2, Layer-3, MPLS Technologies, and VNF/PNF features.
  • Familiarity with tools like iPerf, Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA, or similar.
  • Ability to create test plans, test procedures, test cases, and automated test scripts.
  • Experience with test management and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence.
