Job Description

In this pivotal Group assurance role, you will bring your tenacity and business, financial and commercial expertise to assist the Group Head of Internal Audit to develop and deliver the 3 year risk-based audit plan. You will work to ensure that the AuditCommittee, Executive Committee (ExCo) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) have a clear, accurate and current view of the design and operation of the risk and control framework.Client DetailsThe client are a well know organisation with offices in Greater ManchesterDescriptionYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Where required attend key forums to represent the Group Internal Audit Team such as Advisory and Assurance Boards.
  • To proactively develop and produce insightful audit & assurance MI and Board packs.
  • To use professional expertise and experience to support develop, implement and deliver all aspects of the IA Plan.
  • To manage all aspects of the audit and assurance process from planning to report completion. To also manage colleagues and more junior members of the team to do the same and ensure that fieldwork and final output is first class before presentation to theGroup Head of Internal Audit and to Business Stakeholders.
  • Developing strong working relationships with business stakeholders to act as a trusted advisor. To specifically work closely with the Risk and Insurance team, to understand the risk profile to promote a holistic approach to risk & assurance.
  • To provide genuine insight, commercial awareness and subject matter expertise for all areas within remit.
  • To produce appropriately targeted, value added audit or business assurance reports aligned to stakeholder requirements and expectations. To manage team members to do the same
ProfileThe successful candidate should be;Essential:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) or Internal Audit (CIIA) professional, and/or qualified by experience with a minimum 4 years PQE.
  • Technical specialist with strong inter-personal skills.
  • SME / extensive technical knowledge and ability of internal audit and its application in financial and commercial environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and demonstrable stakeholder management.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience of implementing the 3 lines model in a business and commercial environment.
  • Experience of auditing: complex businesses / change & development programmes / HR issues / Procurement / Strategy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, instil credibility and drive through process and control improvements with colleagues at all levels up to ExCo.
  • Ability to use data analytics software packages.
