Location: Manchester City CentreSalary: £19,000 - £23000 basic + uncapped commissionContract Type: PermanentPosition Type: Full TimeThe VacancyThe Insurance Octopus is Manchesters fastest growing Commercial Insurance Brokerage. As part of a next-generation services group, Verastar, our aim is to help UK businesses of all sizes protect themselves with a number of tailored products that suit theirneeds.Through a combination of some of the most well-known insurers and some more specialist niche insurers, we compare business insurance quotes, aiming to help our customers by tailoring their policy to exactly what they need.As we are part of a larger commercial business services group, we have all of the benefits and support that come with a corporate entity while maintaining the ethos, family-feel and proactive nature of a smaller company.Role Profile (The purpose of the role)This is a high-volume inbound lead management and outbound calling B2B sales role, focused on acquiring new customers for TIOs products and services. A key requirement of the role is that all activity performed aligns to TIOs values and behaviours, witha customer-centric focus always maintained.Responsibilities of the role (What we want you to do)

  • Outbound call to businesses to sell TIOs entry-level range of products and services
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Perform all activity within regulatory standards, GDPR, quality policies and FCA regulations
  • Complete all reports, system and CRM updates in a timely and accurate manner
  • Develop a proficient knowledge of TIOs products, systems and business processes
  • Create an excellent working relationship across the TIO colleague community.

  • Achieve all commercial targets in a consistent manner (month-by-month)
  • Achieve all agreed activity targets
  • Achieve all objectives agreed with the Insurance Sales Team Manager
  • Receive above par scores from customer satisfaction surveys and internal feedback.
Experience (What you need to have already done to be right for this role)
  • Previous experience in a sales or customer service role required, insurance experience
  • (personal or commercial) preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrable evidence of a stable employment record
  • A basic level of understanding of B2B sales processes, preferred, but not essential

  • High level of attention to detail and organisation, with a sense of ownership, pride and responsibility for the accuracy of own work
  • The drive, resilience and focus required to win in a competitive new business sales environment
  • A genuine interest in own development and learning needs, with the energy and desire to act on them to improve own performance
  • A professional and pleasant demeanour, with the desire to create good working relationships with both colleagues and customers.
  • Industry Experience: Information Technology, Utilities and/or Commercial Insurance
  • I.T. literate, with a working knowledge of the use of CRM systems, essential
