This Brigg Scientific client are a materials testing company based in Manchester. They do destructive and not destructive testing of materials for certification purposes.They have a range of equipment for crushing, stretching, pulling, rubbing, twisting, cooling, heating and dipping materials under test conditions.They currently have a permanent vacancy for an instrument technician who can help with calibration, instrument maintenance and fault finding across a range of test instruments.The instruments are low tech, with motors, drive belts, basic circuitry.Successful candidates will have a general interest in Engineering and equipment maintenance. They may have worked as a Lab Technician helping with instrument set up and have good problem solving ability.This person needs to be "Handy", adaptable and enjoy fixing things and setting them up correctly.Salary will be circa £21,000, so they are not looking for bags of experience.Hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday and they run a flexy time system.
