Job Description

Infrastructure EngineerBasic: £35,000 - £45,000 + BenefitsLocation: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in Manchester office with occasional travel to the Liverpool Head Office)WHY: Leading Professional Services Firm + Ability to Use New Technologies

Our client is a leading and award-winning international law firm with over 800 people across multiple countries. They have embarked on an ambitious and exciting upgrade IT Technical roadmap and as a result you will work with some of the latest technologieson the market and own the technical delivery of projects. Due to growth and investment they are now looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding team.The Infrastructure team are based across Manchester, Liverpool and Asia and are responsible for the delivery of technical projects, management and BAU upkeep of the firms infrastructure and applications. In this team, you will work with some of the latesttechnologies in the market and can guarantee no two days will be the same with a varied workload.They pride themselves in the work they deliver and the team are friendly and dynamic, always willing to help in understanding the systems and roadmap. With the broadening technology stack, they appreciate that expertise in all technologies isnt possible.So this role would suit an enthusiastic and motivated professional who can develop and lead on any emerging work streams. This is a great opportunity for someone to work closely with Solutions Architects, Project Managers, and Service Desk Teams which willultimately quickly progress your career.Infrastructure Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the wider Infrastructure team to develop and maintain systems across the UK and International offices.
  • Act as a point of escalation to the Service Desk Analysts and support them in resolving complex issues.
  • Work in a collaborative way with all IT teams to support the implementation of the IT vision and strategy whilst managing a number of exciting 2022 projects.
  • Create and maintain system configuration documentation.
  • Keep up-to-date on infrastructure and security trends, developments, and associated opportunities to contribute to the development of plans to exploit these trends and improve IT Service Delivery.
Infrastructure Engineer - Requirements
  • 2+ years experience as a 3rd Line Support Engineer / Infrastructure Analyst / Infrastructure Engineer or similar with experience managing IT / Technical Projects.
  • Strong understanding of VMware management and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server technologies and associated services, including Server 2012, 2016 and 2019.
  • A good level of networking knowledge, from a troubleshooting and routing perspective. Basic switch configuration knowledge would be desirable.
  • An understanding of Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies, to achieve strong recovery point / recovery time objectives.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Sites / Services and native replication technologies, Windows file services including DFSR.
  • A good understanding of monitoring technologies including tools such as Solarwinds as well as SNMP and MIB sets to configure and fine tune service monitoring to correctly alert and give statistics on availability and performance.
