Job Description

Fixed Term Contract - 12 MonthsSouthway Housing Trust is a Community based housing organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that we work in. Southway Housing Trust is a "not-for-profit" landlord, based in Didsbury, managing and improving approximately 6,000 homes in South Manchester.An exciting opportunity has arisen in the ICT team for an ICT Infrastructure & Support Engineer, and for the right person we offer a 35 hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme and 25 days holiday.The successful candidate will undertake a hands-on role maintaining and supporting core ICT infrastructure systems including but not limited to: Microsoft 2016 server systems, vmware, Citrix, NetApp SAN, Cisco Networking, WAN, LAN, Veeam, Active Directory, ADFS, M365 Azhure, M365 Exchange.The post holder will also be required to assist the support team with user support during periods of high demand including but not limited to: Desktop PC’s, Laptops, Thin Client Terminals, Windows 10, Printers, Photocopiers, Microsoft 365 and office 2016, and mobile devices.They will maintain accurate up-to-date documentation of infrastructure systems and configuration, and up-to-date records in the support help desk system, responding and resolving infrastructure and support issues in line with a defined Service Level Agreement.The successful candidate will:

  1. Possess a customer focused approach with an ability to handle difficult and demanding customers.
  2. Be a good verbal and written communicator who is able to communicate technical matters to non-technical people.
  3. Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands.
  4. Possess the ability to multi-task numerous simultaneous demands.
  5. Be a team player who: works with and shares information with other team members, maintains formally documented systems others can easily and logically access and use.
  6. Possess good problem solving and diagnosis skills.
  7. Possess good knowledge of computer networking technologies.
  8. Have experience of supporting Microsoft Windows network environment including: Windows 10, Windows Server (2016), Exchange Server (2016).
  9. Have working knowledge of the following technologies (or similar): Cisco networks, virtualisation (vmware preferred), VDI (Citrix preferred), SAN, WAN, LAN, firewalls, veeam backup or similar.
  10. Good knowledge and experience of supporting and using Microsoft 365 and office 2016. Experience implementing Microsoft 365 would be advantageous.
  11. Possess knowledge of: Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.
  12. Possess good knowledge of IT Security and maintaining secure systems.
  13. Self-motivated with a strong desire to acquire on-going technical knowledge and skills.
