Job Description

Science Solutions are looking to recruit a HSE Officer for a Global Materials Manufacturer based in Greater Manchester! £35,000-£38,000 Dependant on experience.The successful candidate will be responsible for the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance for the company where they report directly to the HSE Manager. They will also actively assist in promoting the HSE corporate vision and support health, safety& environmental improvement projects. Another responsibility will be to help identify any potential threats/hazards and determine ways of helping to reduce risks /eliminate risk completely.Some duties include:

  • Actively supporting, conducting, and managing risk assessments which are inclusive of COSHH and Manual Handling.
  • You will produce Safe Systems of Work across multiple areas of the business.
  • Regularly conduct site inspections in addition to carrying out compliance audits as and when required.
  • Support and maintain the companies H&S compliance while also keeping up to date with current health and safety legislation.
  • The successful applicant must also be comfortable working in a small team and be capable of covering in case of absence.
Required knowledge and experience:
  • 5+ years experience in a health and safety related role.
  • Must have experience in conducting risk assessments, toolbox talks, permits to work, working at heights, COSHH assessment and accident investigation.
  • Must also be comfortable in making presentations to groups whether its on Health & Safety or a toolbox talk.
  • Previous experience working on a COMAH site isnt essential but highly desirable.
