Job Description

Its an exciting time at Bruntwood where we are looking to bring on a Social Impact Apprentice, which will focus on how we interact with our local communities as a business and a HR Apprentice where you will learn all things HR.A bit about us:Bruntwood own, develop, manage and maintain properties across the Northwest. Our buildings rangefrom collaborative/modern office space, lively retail spaces (Afflecks Palace, Hatch), right through to innovative Science & Technology space.Id recommend having a look on our website - there is no doubt you will see buildings you recognise!The role and what to expect: For both roles you will ultimately need to be a people person, youll be inquisitive and enjoy building relationships and getting to know people, striving to make a positive impact whether that be on our communities or internally at Bruntwood.Working behind the scenes, this role is key in helping the people team accomplish great things. You will always be one step ahead, foreseeing things that need to be done and focusing on continuous improvement to ensure that our team add value, save timeand make things simple.HR Apprentice:

  • Youll be responsible for all of our day to day admin processes throughout the lifecycle of an employee (from on-boarding to off-boarding and everything in between).
  • Youll know all policies and practices like the back of your hand and you will ensure that they are flawlessly executed, on time, every time.
  • As first point of contact for the People Team, you will provide day to day guidance on queries with a mindset to always, no matter what, offer a solution. Youll triage inquiries and connect employees to the right subject matter expert when necessary.
  • Youll work closely with line managers and the People Business Partners to maintain all records of personnel-related data such as payroll, personal information, benefits, leaves, turnover rates etc. and ensure all employment requirements are met.
  • As the owner of our data, you will carry out audits to review our practices, policies, procedures and processes. This will require you to think big, using a data driven approach to cleanse, organise and in some cases, review how our work is done.
  • With a focus on process improvement, you will always be one step ahead, foreseeing things that need to be done and focusing on continuous improvement to ensure that our team add value, save time and make things simple.
  • Identify opportunities to improve people policies and propose solutions to improve inconsistent policies and gaps.
  • You will provide support to the wider People team on other projects.
Social Impact Apprentice:
  • Helping maintain and track volunteering databases and producing reports on progress
  • Provide consistent contact with charity partners and colleagues about volunteering opportunities
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of work experience, workplace visits and/or taster days.
  • Assisting colleagues in day-to-day business, including key projects around charity engagement and volunteering, diversity and inclusion, and culture
  • Research and compile needs assessments within cities, organisations through news, articles and industry publications
  • Responding to emails from colleagues and partners
  • Helping prepare presentations and reports for a range of stakeholders
  • Drafting and updating content around volunteering and Impact activity
  • Organising diaries, virtual meetings and events
