One of the largest housing associations in the UK is currently recruiting for an experienced Homeless Support Worker to carry a case load of service users, based at their homelessness service in Longsight, Manchester, for an initial 2 month period.The RoleIn this Homeless Support Worker role, you will provide a rehousing service to male service users with complex needs.This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:*To plan and deliver a range of personalised support to customers, working with individuals and empowering them to achieve their goals and aspirations.*To deliver and effective housing management service, including reporting repairs and maintenance issues as well as maintaining health and safety standards within the service.*Adopt a psychologically informed approach to delivering support, empowering customers to have choice and control and to drive the support they receive.*Engage customers to meet agreed actions by promoting empowerment, independence and delivering appropriate support interventions.*Conduct regular planned reviews of support and risk, or following an incident/significant change in a customers circumstances to ensure the support plan and risk assessments remain relevant.*Assist customers with day-to-day support requirements and tenancy related matters.*Work alongside customers with a variety of complex needs and support requirements.*Resolve difficult and challenging situations in a sensitive and informed way, balancing the needs of the individual with responsibilities for the safety of the service.*Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support customers to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities.*Completing comprehensive Risk assessments and Support plansThe CandidateTo be considered for this Homeless Support Worker role, it is essential that you have previous experience working with the homeless and good knowledge of rehousing customers within the Manchester area and have a good understanding of social landlords and the private rented Housing sector.The PackageThis is a full time Homeless Support Worker role, working 37 hours per week, on the following rota:Rolling 5 week rota including sleep ins and 1 in 5 weekends :7.30-3.30; 9:00-17:00; 13:00- 21:00; 14:00-22:00; 23:00-7:00 - Sat & Sun 9:00-17:00Referral BonusIf this Homeless Support Worker role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details, or forward these details to them.If they are successful in applying, you will receive a £250 referral bonus upon completion of an initial probationary period.How to ApplyIf you are interested in this Homeless Support Worker role, please send your CV lee . mc millan @ service care . org . uk or call me on discuss the vacancy in more detail.Also, if this Homeless Support Worker role doesnt interest you, but you are looking for new opportunities, please still get in touch as I cover all housing-related vacancies across the region.
