Job Description

A good primary school in Longsight, Manchester are advertising for a KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant to cover classes, lead interventions, support pupils with additional learning needs and work across all classes within their KS2 department. This school have been commended for the rapid progress children make from Year 1 to Year 6 and the raising standards achieved in reading, writing and mathematics.Overall teaching at the school is good and some is outstanding; teachers plan imaginative lessons to ensure pupils enjoy learning. Pupils try their best, behave well in lesson and feel safe in school. An outstanding feature for this school is the leadership team, with there being a successful path to ensure the schools further improvement. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum; strong English and Maths skills; experience of delivering targeted interventions to not only raise attainment but also childrens confidence and self worth; be confident enough to lead a full class and be able to adapt work set to suit individuals learning needs. Pupils in this class are mostly hitting expected levels however there is a handful of pupils that do require extra support to ensure they are year 6 ready. There is a highly competent Teaching Assistant in all classes who takes a lead in core subject boosters, which pupils respond well to.
