An opportunity to join one of the UKs largest independently owned civil engineering and transportation consultancies. The award of coveted framework contracts and major private sector infrastructure projects is driving their expansion. It has also createdan environment ideally suited to a highway design engineer who has career progression in mind. Developing staff and promoting them as soon as they are ready and able is a priority for the business, this is backed up by in-house CPD activities, mentorship andan ICE approved training scheme.Your role will cover the whole design and delivery process, including highway improvement, cycle schemes and section 278 & 38 works. There will be a mix of private sector developer led infrastructure and high value local authority framework projects. Engagementwith clients will commence at feasibility stage and continue through to delivery. This will include front-end design, the supervision of engineers and technicians during detail design phases, preparation and checking of calculations and regular site visits.About You: At least five years highway design experience, which should have included developer led road infrastructure design. You should be prepared to work towards chartership with the ICE or CIHT and be keen to take advantage of the career advancementopportunities the role will lead to. This is a key requirement as they continue to expand. Knowledge of the design manual for roads and bridges "DMRB" and strong technical and organisational abilities are essential. Your interpersonal skills should be welldeveloped, they will be put to full use in your dealings with clients, stakeholders and the staff under your direction.
