Health Technology Assessment AdviserBand 8b - £ 53,168 - £ 62,001Manchester1 x Permanent37.5 hours per weekWe have an exciting opportunity for an expert in health technology assessment to join our team as a Health Technology Assessment Adviser.The role:Reporting to an associate director, the technical adviser’s responsibilities will include:• Providing senior technical advice and support to the appraisal committee and Chair• Providing leadership within the appraisals programme• Evaluating the risks associated with individual health technology appraisals• Preparing and producing reports and giving presentations to senior management• Line managing health technology assessment analysts, providing technical expertise, practical support and advice on day-to-day work.• Promoting the technical work of the technology appraisals programme and ensuring that it continues to be recognised as an international centre for technical excellence in HTA.Why NICE:Here at NICE we have an academic culture committed to producing high quality work and are passionate and proud of the positive impact we have.We can offer you a great place to work with good benefits, flexible working and a supportive, friendly and inclusive environment.What you will bring to NICE:• Expert in the methods of health technology assessment and/or guideline development, including health economics, medical statistics, clinical trials, epidemiology or related areas• Extensive knowledge of the principles of evidence-based health care, critical appraisal and the interpretation of health care research evidence• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Doctorate in a relevant subject, or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/ developmentThe department:The Centre for Health Technology Evaluation (CHTE) develops guidance on the use of new and existing medicines, treatments and procedures within the NHS. The Technology Appraisals team at NICE advises the NHS and patients on the clinical and cost effectiveness of the technologies reviewed and their optimal position in clinical practice.
