Job Description

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Health Economist as part of the Business Intelligence Workstream within the NHS in Manchester.Contract – 3 months initial contract – ongoing thereafterWorking hours – Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00Rate of pay – £36+ per hourThis is negotiable depending on experience – please send over your CV with the required rate.About the roleThe Health Economist role will support the £1 million NHSX programme of work which has defined delivery timescales and clear success measures. The role will be responsible for the development and delivery of the health economics and business intelligence workstream against specification and for delivering the outcomes and milestones by March 2021.The key aims of the overall NHSX programme are to:

  • Identify and rapidly disseminate information and knowledge to support the rapid scale of digital innovation to improve health and social care outcomes whilst improving efficiency and productivity for staff.
  • Lead on the building of capability across the regional teams in terms of improvement methodologies as they apply to digital transformation with a specific focus on measurement for improvement and benefits realisation.
  • Provide national support across core themes as well as bespoke additional support for local efforts.
  • Deliver an inspirational communications and marketing campaign to motivate front line staff and regional teams and drive engagement with the innovation collaboratives and investment fund.
  • About you
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with the national NHS benefits approach including HM Treasury’s Green Book, the five-case model and the “Better Business Cases” framework
  • Experience of using data and conducting complex analysis and an ability to apply this to healthcare settings, including experience of using specialist analytical software and managing the communication of the results of complex analysis.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of analytical techniques and methods including an excellent understanding of NHS information and associated datasets.
  • Experience of supporting the production of Business Cases with recommendations and costings, project plans, risk logs, issues logs, milestones, resource requirements, training and communication plans to support the development of Business cases.
