Health and Social Care Category ManagerProcurement Services Strategic SourcingContract Type: 3 months + possible extensionDaily rate: £350 - £400 depending on experience - Outside IR35Hours: 36.6 hrs per weekBased: Greater ManchesterClosing Date: Sunday 3rd May 2020Shortlisting & Interview Dates: TBC Role Overview: Working within a public sector organisations Strategic Sourcing Service, you will drive forward Commercial improvements - through the adoption of a strategic contract, strong Supplier Relationship Management and Category Management approach for the whole of the procurement and contract duration/life cycle within the Health and Social Care team. The role will be allocated to the following category of spend;*Community, Health and Social CareKey Responsibilities:*Develop category strategy and sourcing plans by managing the prioritisation of spend activity within their category and identify areas of cost savings.*Engage with key stakeholders to ensure the category strategy is aligned and meets the needs of the Directorate(s) Strategy*Take ownership for the delivery of benefits through the implementation of sourcing strategies for agreed categories of spend within the directorate.*Understand and be familiar with all aspects of procurement methodology and Public Contracts Regulations. To ensure that all procurement and contract management is undertaken in accordance with Councils Contract Procedure Rules and relevant legislative requirements.*To update strategic analysis of markets and supplier trends to ensure procurement is based on intelligence. To review this performance data relating to key suppliers and the teams effectiveness and efficiency to determine corrective actions where necessary and to exploit opportunities for continuous improvement. To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:*Experience of managing expenditure within a specific category of spend within the Public Sector environment*Ideally have experience within Health and Social Care Procurement Category directly*Proven experience of delivering a procurement category strategy and benefits including financial savings.*Experience in the preparation, analysis, interpretation and reporting of procurement management information*Ideally working towards or having been successful in a Full Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and SupplyAbout the client:This Public Sector organisation is committed to developing a Co-operative future; one where citizens, partners and staff work together to improve the area.
